About the Venue

Even for many wedding planners who have lived in the East Bay for years, the charming and well-kept secret of Wildwood Acres in Lafayette is quickly becoming an East Bay hot spot. Lafayette is so centrally located it is perfect for the couple attracting family from the surrounding Bay Area.

The weather is just about perfect year round. The gorgeous rolling green hills are full of life and wild flowers in the spring, and the sun kissed temperatures of summer is always followed by a cool breeze in the evenings. This private estate is secluded and as you can see by the amazing photography, there are so many small vignettes to work with,  every bride can find her own personal style here.

Ask the expert

As a wedding professional it is kinda crazy when you get a photography submission that has the most incredibly gorgeous bride and you know her! Jessica Burke is extremely talented and when I first received this wedding, I thought it looked surprisingly  familiar. Then as I looked at my dear friend walking his gorgeous daughter down the aisle, I realized I had to feature it.

The bride is not only gorgeous on the outside, she carries the same amazing effervescent personality on the inside. I love the fresh look of the flowers which the bride created herself (a budding florist – check out her website at www.angelspetals.com). The color combination, which is centered around a crisp and bright Military Blue, expresses the sultry side of the Pumpkin and Spice orange hue she has chosen as an accent color. This is a marvelous example of DIY done right. The invitations and other collateral all provide good cohesion, but are not too matchy-matchy. The bursts of color is consistent and provides just the right accent without being overwhelming – I love it!

I have to mention the brides own personal style.   Talk about Hollywood glamor at it’s best,  the birdcage veil is stunning and the perfect addition to the sleek and streamlined retro styling of the dress.  The neckline of the dress is so flattering- add just the perfect embellishment at the waist line and you have pure perfection!

I Do Venues wants to recognize the talented team of wedding professionals who helped to make this bride’s dream a reality: Photographer – Jessica Burke Photography; Designer/Planner – Karen Wilson of Your Event; Floral – Angels Petals; Invitations – Creative Designs by Mimi; Entertainment – Eastwood Entertainment; Videographer – Lumitone.
