Gloria Atherstone | Director of Business Development

I have often said I have the best job in the world. I get to attend a great party every weekend while meeting the most interesting people and sharing one of the most special moments of their lives.

My husband, Tom and I started Glass Onion Catering & Events almost 20 years ago. We began in the corporate arena but quickly found weddings to be our ideal niche. Weddings have a certain flow—an energy like no ether event. Everyone is happy and joyous. What more could you ask for?

In time, I branched out into wedding coordination for clients who did not need catering services. This evolution seemed perfect, paired with my business degree and background in marketing and people management. In the wedding industry, there is no substitute for experience. Having completed every job involved in a wedding from event design to installing dance floors, I feel extremely qualified to assist you plan any and all aspects of your celebration. The way I see it, it is my job to take your vision, pair it with my experience and assemble a team who will deliver a flawless wedding day.

I take great delight in helping my clients create incredible wedding memories while enhancing their ability to enjoy their celebration knowing everything is taken care of.

Alicia Falango | Creative Director

Great events transcend the ordinary and offer us the extraordinary. As the principal coordinator and creative director of Alicia K Designs, I have been creating one-of-a-kind experiences for nearly a decade. I am intimately involved in every aspect of event design, coordination and execution so each wedding reflects the vision, charm and personality of its hosts.

As the daughter of a floral designer and caterer, I inherited my mother’s passion for crafting idyllic functions. Following this early inspiration, I began honing my skills, helping to plan and coordinate nearly 200 private and corporate events.

Known for our sophisticated, yet youthful style, Alicia K Designs quickly established itself as one of the Bay Area’s most original event design companies. My staff and I strive to make planning an event a rich and rewarding experience for everyone. Our goal is to translate your wedding vision into reality.

My clients are new found friends and partners in the creative process. Together, we draw on the little things—a song, a place, a memory—for inspiration. The result is your dream wedding which will linger in your memory forever.

I am a member of the International Special Event Society (ISES) and co-director of the Northern California chapter of the Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC). I have been honored to appear on the television shows, Platinum Weddings and View from the Bay. My work has also been showcased in Savor Magazine, Elegant Bride, The Knot Weddings, and Modern Bride.
